Summer Vibes…

Yes despite some torrential rains and climate-change type storms in April, the Spring has definitely given way to Summer. High temperatures, lots of growth, fireflies and bats in the evening and, every so often, thunderstorms when it all just gets too much!

The carpark is starting to fill up - definitely at weekends - but even in the mid-week, there are many visitors looking to escape the temperatures of the towns and cities.

Weather forecasting in this area often seems more guesswork than meteorologically based - at least that’s my takeaway from the last few years. The one exception to this is Meteo Valle d’Aosta (MVA) who do know mountain weather. Whilst I know the cabin is not in Aosta, it is next door to the Gressoney Valley so the main takeaways from the MVA guys also applies to the Cervo Valley.

The cabin is in use pretty much solid for June, July and August from a mixture of people who have come across this website (some bizarre searching like “smallest hut in the Alps”!); some repeats which is lovely and says a lot; personal contacts as well as the commercial letting agency Natuurhuisje.

September onwards, the weather is generally still good, a touch cooler and a lot less people around. So if you’d like to take some time-out later in the year, just reach out for some more details.

Lastly - some more recent snaps of nature realising it’s now summer!

Enjoy the season whatever you do. Until next time - “arrivederci”.
